What HCBS programs are available in LA?
Louisiana has several specific waiver and long-term care programs:
- Community Choices Waiver (CCW): For adults and seniors.
- New Opportunities Waiver (NOW) & Supports Waiver (SW): For individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
- Children's Choice Waiver: For children with developmental disabilities up to age 20.
- EPSDT-Personal Care Services: Children and youth from birth through age 20.
- Long-Term Personal Care Services (LTPCS): State plan personal care services.
How do I apply for services?
You can apply or request screening for long-term care options by calling the Louisiana Options in Long-Term Care hotline at 1-877-456-1146 (TTY: 7-1-1). A representative will guide you through the process of assessing your needs and determining program eligibility
Is there a waiting list?
Yes. Due to high demand, many HCBS waiver programs in Louisiana have waiting lists or "interest lists". Applicants are prioritized based on their level of need and the date their name was added to the registry.
